Daniel Adams: Problem-Solving Guru

Daniel Adams, our Logistics Manager, brings over 14 years of industry experience to the table. He’s passionate about developing creative sales strategies and solutions in the ever-changing world of transportation.

Adams believes the key to navigating the complexities of the logistics industry lies in combining logic, tools, and creativity. Each day can bring challenges, obstacles, hurdles, or many moving parts to synchronize–Adams thrives on finding innovative solutions to ensure that clients’ goods reach their destinations efficiently.

When asked about industry trends, he is excited (and a little terrified) about the rise of AI tools. He recognizes AI’s potential to revolutionize logistics and is eager to see how it can benefit Chief Logistics’ clients.

Client communication is key. “I make myself available at all times for our customers,” Adams says. “If they need me and it is important to them, then it is equally important to me.” This dedication to customer service and solving client pain points is what sets Chief Logistics apart in the industry.

Being able to see the possibility in something is what originally drew Adams to the Chief family. “The opportunity is what brought me here… The ability to help mold and grow something from an early stage and be able to watch it take off once the stars align excites me.”

Randy Pinneo: Integrity Meets Experience

A 40+ year veteran of the industry with 20 years at Chief under his belt, Randy Pinneo has a wealth of experience in management, operations, and sales.

Leveraging Existing Connections and Reputation

For Pinneo, the biggest sales opportunities lie in leveraging existing networks: “Biggest [opportunities] for Chief Logistics are the ones who do business with Chief.” 

He goes on to describe how accompanying salespersons from different divisions to get a foot in the door with other customers allows for warm introductions and builds trust with potential clients.

Chief’s reputation for unwavering excellence in customer service is a sales tool all on its own. It makes a difference “having that backing from the Chief name,” Pinneo adds.

When asked about differentiating products and services, Pinneo emphasized the value of “establishing that relationship with the customer and forming a partnership.” He believes that while many companies offer similar services, it’s the strength of the customer relationships that sets Chief Logistics apart.

Pinneo’s sales pitch is refreshingly straightforward: “[I’m] not trying to sell us as a carrier or 3PL… more as a partnership/relationship building.” By leading with a focus on collaboration and mutual benefit, he sets the stage for long-lasting and successful partnerships.

So, how does Pinneo build rapport and establish trust? He shared two key strategies:

Queven Barrios’ path to Chief Logistics is anything but ordinary. A decorated Marine Corps veteran with a Purple Heart, Barrios’ journey has been marked by resilience, a commitment to service, and a passion for helping others.

A Spirit of Service

“Coming home after serving in the Marines was both exciting and terrifying,” Barrios recalls. His desire to serve led him to the world of sales, where he thrived on connecting with customers and exceeding their expectations.

After successful stints in the automotive and roofing industries, Barrios found his true calling at Chief Logistics. “Since joining Chief as an Account Executive, it’s been nothing short of spectacular,” he shares. “I get to chat with customers over the phone, help them move freight, and occasionally play the logistics superhero when urgent challenges arise.”

Keeping Cool Under Pressure

Barrios’ dedication to his clients shines through in a recent example where a trailer mix-up threatened to derail a shipment. But by keeping a level head and taking decisive action, Barrios found a solution, ensuring his client’s cargo reached its destination safely and on time. 

“It’s moments like these that make logistics feel like an action movie,” he says. “Full of suspense, a little drama, but always with a happy ending!”

Building Relationships, Delivering Results

For Barrios, building genuine relationships with clients is paramount. “Honestly, I don’t have a special skill; I just approach customers with genuine sincerity,” he explains. He also goes the extra mile to keep customers informed at each step along the way of their shipments.

Positive client feedback fuels Barrios’ passion for his work. “I’ve had a couple of my customers email or call me just to chat and thank me.” Moments like those are the ones that he says put a smile on his face.

Hunter believes his ability to forge strong relationships is one of his greatest skills: “I can create relationships with people!” He goes on to say companies sometimes hesitate to use brokers because of their reputation in the industry.

One of the biggest frustrations Hunter addresses for his clients is a lack of communication. He emphasizes transparency and proactive updates, assuring his clients they can “trust me [to] overcommunicate [about] their shipments.”

Acting Fast When the Clock is Ticking

Hunter’s journey into the logistics world stems from his love of sales and helping others. Being a broker, he says, is “creating relationships with customers and helping them with their issues, which could be transportation of goods.”

Hunter thrives on going the extra mile to help clients navigate the complexities of the supply chain, even in time-critical situations. Recently, a customer used a different broker, but then the driver canceled, leaving the customer in a bind. “They called me,” he says. “I got a truck for them, and the shipment made it on time!”
